Title: Installation of Serial Port Monitor

Hi,

I would like to test Serial Port Monitor.
I found an installation package which was older version.
It was installed and then after installation it asked me if I want to upgrade to latest version.
I said yes and after PC restart and previous version uninstalled, now I am unable to install the latest version.
I get an error message as below:

No matter how many times I restart the PC, I get the same error.
I tried to uninstall everything from PC and registry, but something still blocks it.
I use Win10 64bit. It could be SPSniff, but how do I stop and remove the service/ActiveX?
Or what else do you recommend?

I have solved my problem.
It was related with Eltima software serial port driver.
I have used RegScanner to search through registry and delete keys.
First I searched for “Eltima”.
There are 2 ways of search: Run As Administrator and Run As System. They offer different rights to delete keys.
After each search and keys delete I tried to install again the Serial Port Monitor from Eltima.
Then I looked here one more time:

And I used RegScanner, but this time searching and deleting “spsniffer”.
Still without success.
Then I searched and deleted everything related with “SPSniff” using both privileges as Admins and as System.
Then I have restarted the PC and I was able to reinstall correctly Eltima Serial Port Monitor.

In order to resolve this issue, please do the following:

1. Uninstall Serial Port Monitor:

2. Check and delete the following from the Registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SPSniff

3. Reboot your machine and then try to install Serial Port Monitor again.
