Title: How to use Virtual Serial Port ActiveX in windows service?
Post by: stephen1w on July 03, 2009, 04:21:38 AM
Since it is very slow to create and delete more than 500 COM ports in my application.I want to change my application to a windows service. But I don't know how to use the Virtual Serial Port ActiveX in windows service.Maybe the speed will be faster.
Is there anyone who could show me some sample code? Thanks.

Dear Stephen,

I regret ot say that even if you launch you application as service, it will not influence on the speed of ports creation. The ports may be created slowly because it is not our driver who initiates them in the system. We only tell your Plug'n'Play manager to create them, and it may take a while until they appear in the system.
