I have a GPS antenna that when connected through the USB to a computer creates a COM port.
If I connect the GPS antenna to software through the COM port I can add corrections to my GPS signal that increases the accuracy of the geographical positioning given by the GPS. The problem is that the COM port is locked and made unavailable when I connect to the aforementioned software. Then I cannot use the COM port for a data logging software that is supposed to listen for the GPS coordinates through the same COM port.
Will the COM port Redirector solve this problem? Can I safely create a copy COM port and get two software to connect to the same COM port? Is there any situation in which this may not work.
Any help is appreciated.
