'What to sync' -> iCal not finding calendars (osx)(Read 11104 times)
When I attempt to specify the calendars to sync, the list of calendars is incomplete.
I.E. 'What to sync' -> iCal -> 'Sync only selected calendars' does not show any of the calendars that I have created on my mac.  It only lists the default calendars, 'Home' and 'Work'.  Since I can't select them, none of my calendars can be synced. FYI 'Refresh list' has no effect?

How does SyncMate construct this list?  Do I need to link the iCal files to some special directory?

Any help on this would be appreciated.  As it is, I can't sync any relevant calendar items with my DROID RAZR.

thanks

Hello,
Please, make sure that displaying of all calendars is enabled in iCal interface, as SyncMate works only with enabled calendars. For that aim, launch iCal.app --> press Calendars --> make sure that the check-boxes next to all calendars are ticked. If the issue persists, please send us SyncMate diagnostic feedback to support@eltima.com. Read the instruction on how to send report to technical support:
http://wiki.eltima.com/knowledge-base/syncmate/report.html

In feedback comment field, please specify the following:
~ The device you are trying to sync with. Its exact name and model.
~ What type of data are you trying to sync?
~ The exact sequence of your actions, so we would be able to reproduce the issue on our side.

Also, please supply us with the screenshot of "iCal" plugin configuration in SyncMate window.

Thank you.

All calendars were enabled.  This makes no difference.  FYI I already submitted a report.  But I will submit another one.

I would like to inform you that we have investigated the issue closer and were able to identify the most possible solution. Most probably, the issue is related to hanging of Mac OS Sync Service after update to 10.7.4, and could be fixed by the correct restart of the driver. Please check the detailed instruction at the Apple Knowledge Base:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627

The correct solution from the link is below:
"Hold the Option key on your keyboard, then click the Sync menu in the menu bar:
if you see the Sync menu but you are unable to open it, skip to step 8.
Choose Reset Sync Services.
Click Reset Sync History.
Test for the original issue. If the issue persists, or if you are unable to open the Sync menu, follow these steps:
In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
Open Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type or paste the following command on a single line:
/System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync.pl full

Press Return.
When the operation is complete, quit Terminal."

Then let us know if the issue persists. Thank you.

I'm afraid that the "Resetting the SyncServices folder" procedure doesn't solve the problem.  It does have an effect.  After resetting the folder, several deleted calendars no longer appear.  But the iCal calendars that I created still do not appear.

If you have any other suggests/ideas, please post them.

thanks

Could you please submit another diagnostic feedback to technical support, containing entries of the last synchronization attempt, after performing the above steps?

What do you mean by "... entries of the last synchonization attempt ...."?

FYI the problem does NOT occur during synchronization.  The problem is in configuration. I.e. "What to sync" -> iCal -> "Sync only selected calendars" does not display any of the calendars that I created and enabled on my mac

There appears to be a delay in updating the calendar selection list.  When I launched SyncMate on my mac today, ALL my iCall calendars appeared in the sync selection list.  Note that this is not simply a matter of rebooting the mac - I tried that yesterday and it had no effect.

Syncing is working, but only in one direction.  With sync set to 'This MAC <-> DROID RAZR', changes are propagated from DROID to mac, but not the other way around.

E.g.
There is an iCal calendar named XXX on my mac. After SyncMate synchronization (initiated on the mac), XXX is listed on the droid phone (a razr maxx) in the default calendar app. The calendar is listed as XXX under mailto:local@syncmate.com, set "synced, visible".

I can create an event on the phone in calendar XXX.  After synchronization, it is correctly propagated to the mac.  However, none of the events entered into XXX on the mac are propagated to the phone.

Any thoughts about this would be appreciated.

PS Below is a copy of the Syncmate activity log for a 'Sync now' called after an event was added to an iCal calendar on the mac.  Note that that SyncMate appears not to have detected the new event in the calendar.

According to the additional information you've supplied us with, we have identified another possible reason of the issue. Most probably it is related to iCloud service enabled for calendars on your Mac. Thus, all calendars present in iCal only virtually, and can not be detected by SyncMate. Could you please try to create a separate calendar under local My Mac account and create a test event there. Then launch SyncMate and check if new calendar is displayed after refresh, and whether you can sync it with the mobile device. Then let us know the result.

Thank you in advance.

None of the iCal calendars in question are enabled in iCloud.  They are all listed in "ON MY MAC" in the iCal 'Calendar' menu.  (I have one test calendar that is in iCloud, but I haven't been trying to synchronize that one.)

thanks

PS Just to be sure, I disabled calendars in iCloud completely.  The problem of events not propagating from mac to android was not resolved.
