Avoid Reboot during installation of VSP?(Read 8314 times)
Avoid Reboot during installation of VSP? on: March 23, 2009, 09:23:13 AM
We are using OEM version of Serial Port Driver and includes it in another installation package. I read in another post here, https://forum.eltima.com/index.php?topic=3490.0 that the driver installation may require a reboot if there are already virtual ports in use in the system.

This happens in our case, and my question is if there is some way to avoid this Reboot message to appear, because we are rebooting after our main installation anyway, and if user presses Yes to the vsbsetup.exe Reboot message the main installation is interrupted.

Is there some way to run the vsbsetup.exe in "silent" mode, i.e. ignore any message to be displayed? Or is there any other way to avoid this Reboot message to appear? We have also tried to uninstall the VSP before running vsbsetup.exe but it didn't make any effect.

Thanks in advance

Johan

Dear Johan,

We deeply apologize for delay with reply.

Please, be informed that it is necessary to modify vsbsetup.exe to disable "Reboot message".

I would recommend you to look at Source Code License for Virtual Serial Port ActiveX Control. It allows you to make all the necessary modifications yourself. To read more about Source Code License, please visit the page: http://wiki.eltima.com/software-licenses/source-code-eula.html

We can even return your investments for OEM if you purchase Source Code License.
